5 more Classic christmas films to watch this year!

Get in the mood for festivities this December with these heart-warming Christmas movies

The time has come! It is officially 3 weeks until Christmas, and I’m in the mood for some good old festive movies to get me in the spirit. So, in case you needed some more family favourites - here is my list of the all time greatest, sweetest, most heart-warming movies this year!

1.     It’s a Wonderful Life (1946)- A timeless classic, which warms your heart and certainly gets you in the mood for Christmas! For those who haven’t watched it, it follows the story of a depressed and lonely man visited by an angel, who teaches him the true importance of life. It’s a rollercoaster of emotions, and will have you sobbing into your Christmas jumper.

2.    Home Alone (1990)- 28 years after its release, Home Alone remains one of the most entertaining Christmas movies of all time. I’m sure we all know the story of Kevin McCallister, left behind on a family Christmas trip and forced to defend his home from two, rather slow-witted, robbers. It’s guaranteed to make you laugh watching the 8-year-old boy outwit two grown men, with silly, rather gruesome traps and tricks.

3.    The Nightmare Before Christmas (1993) - This stop-motion animation, produced by Tim Burton, is a lovely gothic take on Christmas. It follows Jack Skellington, the King of "HalloweenTown" who stumbles through a portal to "ChristmasTown" and decides to celebrate the holiday, it’s a sweet movie, full of originality and imagination. Well worth a watch!

4.    How the Grinch Stole Christmas (2000) -  Jim Carrey beautifully nails his role as everyone's favourite furry green villain. With his dog, croak, and evil grin, the grinch is the ultimate feel good and slightly nostalgic movie for everyone this year.

5.    The Snowman (1982) - A twenty-six-minute film, with no speaking but one song, is the sweetest movie on this list, reducing me to tears each time I watch it. It is so simple, yet heartwarming, and always worth a watch during the holidays.
