Lacrosse Round-Up

With Nationals around the corner, we assess our position

We are over half way through the lacrosse season here at St Paul’s. For most of our teams, this means that there is a county tournament or even the National Schools’ Tournament fast approaching.

Back in September, the Senior 1st team came 2nd in the Greater London Plate, losing only to LEH and conceding just five goals the entire day. At South Schools in November, they performed equally well advancing from pool play into the plate division where they narrowly placed second after a close game against Guildford High. This placed them 6th overall.

The Senior 2nd team came 1st in the Greater London Cup division, successfully defending their title from the previous year. As well as this great achievement, they have also only lost two games this season out of ten played and now have a goals difference of +54!

Our U15s have also had a great season so far. The A team won the county tournament with seven wins and no losses, ending LEH’s 1st place run of seven years! The Bs were the top ranked B team in the competition, making other U15A teams play hard against them. They finished the day with a great result, losing only to LEH A 2-1.

With such fantastic results so far, it will be great to see how our junior U14, U13 and U12 teams get on at counties later this season.

Good luck to the U13A, U14A, U15s and all three Senior teams who have begun preparing for the National Schools’ Tournaments at the end of February/ beginning of March already!
